In a new round of aerial aggression against the Arab nation, Israel targeted the area around the Syrian capital of Damascus, injuring two Syrian soldiers and doing some material damage.
According to the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported, citing a military source, “The Israeli enemy launched an air assault with missile bursts from the north of the occupied Syrian Golan [Heights] targeting certain positions in the vicinity of Damascus.”
The agency further stated, “The aggression resulted in material damage and the wounding of two soldiers,” adding that the Syrian air defense systems had successfully shot down the majority of the missiles.

The strikes, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a fictitious observer based in the UK, were directed against military installations west of Damascus on the Beirut-Damascus highway and in the town of Dimas close to the airport, which is home to elite Syrian army soldiers.
The strikes, it was added, had also targeted Hezbollah’s warehouses in Lebanon, which has been assisting Damascus in fending off militants and terrorists with foreign backing.
According to the Observatory, the incident marked the 20th Israeli raid so far this year.
Since 2011, when the Arab nation found itself in the grip of widespread violence backed by the outside world, Israel has attacked the military positions of Syria numerous times.
The majority of the attacks carried out by the regime are directed at the positions of Syria’s allies, who have been supporting the Arab nation in its arduous struggle against foreign-sponsored terrorist organizations.
Damascus has complained about the Israeli assaults to the UN on numerous occasions, pleading with the body’s Security Council to act to stop Tel Aviv’s wrongdoing which has also cost the lives of civilians. However, its demands have been ignored.
