Syrian capital struck by an Israeli missile, leaving civilians dead

A building in the Kafr Sousa neighborhood of central Damascus was struck by an Israeli rocket early on Sunday, killing five people, according to witnesses and officials; as the regime keeps up its violent acts against the nation and Palestine.

The majority of the missiles fired by Israel during its latest missile attack, which began early on Sunday, were intercepted by Syria’s air defenses, according to the official SANA news agency.

Israeli missiles struck a number of residential structures after the attack, mostly in the Kafr Sousa neighborhood in the heart of Damascus, according to SANA.

Al-Mayadeen news agency reported that the Israeli strike occurred north of al-Suwayda in southwestern Syria and struck the countryside around Damascus, the Kafr Sousa neighborhood, and Tal al-Masih.

According to a Syrian military source, Israeli missiles were fired from the occupied Golan Heights toward Damascus and its environs, hitting some locations including civilian-inhabited residential neighborhoods. According to the source, Syria’s air defenses shot down the majority of the Israeli missiles.

According to Syria’s health ministry, the strike resulted in the deaths of five people, including a soldier, and fifteen injuries, some of which were life-threatening.

SANA also cited a Syrian security source as confirming that the nation’s air defenses had shot down the majority of the Israeli missiles before they reached their target.

The source also stated that engineering and technical teams were evaluating the harm done by the most recent Israeli act of aggression.

The majority of the time, Israel uses the airspace of Lebanon or the occupied territories to launch missile attacks on targets in Syria.

Syrian officials have repeatedly criticized Israeli assaults at the UN, pleading with the Security Council to stop Tel Aviv’s wrongdoing. But no one has responded to the calls.

Faisal Mekdad, the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized in early November 2022 that his nation will unquestionably respond to future instances of aggression with a crushing response.

According to Israeli military experts, the strikes are part of a low-intensity conflict that has been escalating in an effort to stop Iran’s growing encroachment in Syria.

However, the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has never acknowledged that Iran partakes in the civil war in Syria and that Tehran only has military advisers there.
