300 Oxygen concentrators were donated by Iran’s Astan Qods Razavi to India in solidarity with India’s fight against coronavirus, according to Iran’s embassy in New Delhi.
Iranian envoy to New Delhi Ali Chegini said on Friday night that despite the harshest sanctions, Tehran has reached a very high stage in producing high-tech medical supplies, and has sent a batch of the medical equipment containing 300 oxygen concentrators to India.
In relevant remarks in April, Iran’s Health Minister Saeed Namaki, in a message to his Indian counterpart Harsh Vardhan, sympathized over the recent rise of the virus’ death toll, and voiced Tehran’s readiness to assist the friendly nation in the fight against the disease.
“Coronavirus pandemic will be controlled and managed through empathy and cooperation of all countries,” Namaki said, adding, “Such a thing is possible in the light of justice, lifting of sanctions, fair distribution of necessary equipment as well as diagnosis and treatment for every person in need in the world.”
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, despite sanctions, has managed to overcome the fourth wave of the COVID-19 through relying on indigenous knowledge of the Iranian scientists,” he noted.
