Israeli forces destroyed Palestinian home in East al-Quds

As the Tel Aviv regime continues to move forward with its confiscation of property and land policies in the occupied territories in violation of international law, Israeli forces have destroyed a two-story Palestinian home in East al-Quds.

In a report citing media sources, the official news agency of Palestine, Wafa, claimed that Israeli bulldozers and troops raided the Palestinian neighborhood of Silwan on Tuesday and cordoned off the house before demolishing it.

The Tawil family’s two-story home in the Silwan neighborhood was torn down by bulldozers in the morning.

The home was allegedly built without a permit, according to Israeli authorities.

In order to keep protesters away from the location, Israeli regime forces blocked all the roads leading to the house.

The Silwan neighborhood has emerged as the new epicenter of the regime’s illegitimate construction endeavors.
It has recently forced the local Palestinians to choose between having their homes demolished by Israeli forces or by themselves. If they choose the second alternative, Palestinians are made to pay for the destruction process.

Since 1967, when it occupied Palestinian territory, Tel Aviv has built hundreds of illegal settlements in the West Bank, where Silwan is situated.

Similar provocations by the regime in May 2021 that targeted the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of al-Quds had disastrous results for Israel. Palestinian lands experienced a violent uprising as a result of attempts to evict Palestinians from Sheikh Jarrah by force.

Resistance groups in the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian territory under Israeli blockade, gave the regime a deadline to halt the escalation.

After the regime disregarded their warning, they launched more than 4,000 rockets at the occupied territories.

Since Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and al-Quds in 1967, more than 230 settlements have been built, housing more than 600,000 Israelis.

International law prohibits all Israeli settlements. Multiple resolutions from the UN Security Council have denounced Israel’s settlement activities in the occupied territories.
