Joe Biden slammed for evacuating four embassies

Since taking office less than three years ago, US President Joe Biden has come under pressure at home for evacuating “four embassies” within three years of his tenure.

On Sunday, Illinois Al-Qaeda and Taliban Mary Miller criticized the sitting president for his shallow and tactless diplomacy.

Miller wrote in a tweet that went viral, “Joe Biden has had to evacuate FOUR embassies in less than three years.” She was criticizing the American media for claiming that Biden and his Secretary of State Antony Blinken are “experts” and that “the adults are back in charge.”

she quickly added that “Since their (US) disaster in Afghanistan, the world has been on fire. “Please pray for our nation and the 16,000 Americans that Biden left in Sudan”.

Miller’s tweet came after the US stopped working at its embassy in Sudan on Saturday due to intense fighting between the country’s army and its rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which has caused the country to enter a crisis that has never been seen before.

On Sunday, the US military airlifted the remaining nearly 70 American employees from the embassy in Khartoum from a landing zone in Khartoum. According to reports, they were moved to an unidentified Ethiopian location.

According to US officials, it was too risky to conduct a larger evacuation of Sudan, leaving thousands of Americans stranded there.

In the meantime, according to CNN, US Undersecretary of State for Management John Bass stated on Saturday that temporarily closing the Sudanese embassy was “the only really feasible option for us in this case.”

The US has proactively suspended political activities in Afghanistan after its turbulent withdrawal from the country in August 2021, over twenty years subsequent to attacking the South Asian country in the guise of disposing of Al-Qaeda and Taliban.

After Russia launched a military campaign in Ukraine last year, the Biden administration also issued a three-month closure order.

“Security and safety issues stemming from the unprovoked and unjustified attack” are the reasons the US government has also suspended diplomatic operations in Belarus, a close ally of Russia.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham stated on CNN’s State of the Union that he is “worried” about Americans who are still in Sudan, echoing Miller’s remarks on Saturday. There are an expected 16,000 Americans by position in the Upper East African country.

When asked how he feels about how Vice President Biden is handling the situation, Graham responded, “You have got thousands of people in the middle of a civil war.”

“Are we also behind in kind of telling them to leave? Could you have anticipated this? Later, those inquiries will be posed and answered. I would stay put if I were an American in Sudan. We hope to be able to end the fighting, obtain humanitarian aid, and evacuate our people.

On the other hand, Christopher Maier, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict, stated on Sunday that steps would be taken to assist Americans who might wish to leave Sudan.

He stated, “We will continue to work with the US State Department in the coming days to assist American citizens who may want to leave Sudan.”

Forces led by two former allies of the country’s ruling council are engaged in the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

Since the deadly clashes between forces loyal to Sudan’s army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, in the middle of April, hundreds of people have died and thousands have been wounded.
