Saudi: Hajj pilgrims attend conference on Palestine, Islamic Ummah’s duties

A conference on the issue of Palestine and the responsibilities of the Muslim Ummah regarding Palestine was held in the holy city of Mecca during Hajj.

The office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s representative in Hajj organized the event on Monday with the participation of Hajj pilgrims from different countries.

Sayed Abdol Fattah Navab, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, in a message to the conference underlined the need for clarifying the cultural, political and military dangers of normalizing ties with the Zionist regime and the role of the United States in the normalization bids.

He also described Hajj as a manifestation of Islamic unity and said no other ritual can inspire the Muslim Ummah to walk on the path of reviving Islamic values and countering the enemies.

Sayed Navab highlighted the Leader of Islamic Revolution’s emphasis on maintaining unity and said there should be extensive planning and measures should be taken to clarify the importance of unity and convergence and the threats of divergence and disunity.

Head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Sayed Sadeq Hosseini was among the speakers at the conference. He elaborated on the need to promote the issue of Al-Quds and raising awareness about what the Palestinian people are going through.

Elsewhere in eh conference, a number of scholars and thinkers from Turkey, India, Pakistan and Niger presented their views on the role of the Muslim Ummah in defeding Palestine.

Nearly one million pilgrims from different countries are in Mecca to perform the Hajj rituals.
