Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has returned to Italy immediately after withdrawing from the Super Eagles squad due to his injury while on international break
Napoli forward Victor Osimhen is reportedly set to move to the Parteopei’s medical facilities immediately after suffering an injury while on duty with Nigeria.
Osimhen forced to quit Super Eagles camp
Osimhen was taken off after just an hour during Nigeria’s friendly against Saudi Arabia, and it was believed that the Super Eagles suffered a significant injury during the match.
The game ended in a 2-2 draw, with Osimhen unable to stamp his authority on the match, failing to score or provide an assist in the entertaining stalemate.
Following the Saudi Arabia match, speculation has risen about the nature and gravity of Osimhen’s injury, and the striker will find out just how bad the setback against Saudi Arabia is.
Osimhen returns to Italy amidst injury worries
The Super Eagles forward will now return to his club’s base in Naples to smooth things over with his current employers as they continue their quest to win the Scudetto for the second time in a row.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Osimhen will now be looking to fully recover for Napoli when they fully return from the international break with more purpose after a questionable run of form in the last fixtures for the Super Eagles.
Napoli have struggled this season in the league after lifting the Serie A title last campaign, with the Partenopei losing two and drawing two of the eight matches that they had played before the international break.
They will be hoping that a completely fit Osimhen will be ready for the rigors of Serie A after the international break to help them overcome their recent slump.
