Blinken’s recent trip to China a “disgraceful beg trip” N.Korea slams

North Korea has portrayed US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s recent trip to China as a “disgraceful beg trip,” accusing Washington of failing to use this trip as leverage in its pressure campaign against Beijing.

An international affairs analyst named Jong Yong wrote in a commentary that was published by the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Wednesday that the purpose of the unusual visit was to beg for a thawing of tensions because “the attempt to press and restrain China may become a boomerang striking a fatal blow to the US economy.”

He said, “To put it simply, the recent junket of the US state secretary can never be judged other than a disgraceful begging trip of the provoker admitting the failure of the policy of putting pressure on China.
With “anti-China complexes” like the so-called Quad strategic security group, which consists of Japan, Australia, India, and the United States, as well as the Australia-UK-US security agreement known as AUKUS, the analyst further accused Washington of escalating regional tensions.

To provoke first and then discuss the so-called “responsible control over divergence of opinion” is the height of double-dealing and impudence, he claimed.

In an effort to reduce tensions between the two largest economies in the world, Blinken arrived in Beijing on a risky diplomatic mission on Sunday. However, there is little reason to believe that the negotiations will make significant headway.

North Korea is suffering from severe sanctions imposed by the US and UN Security Council in response to its nuclear and ballistic missile programs, but this hasn’t stopped it from advancing its military might as a deterrent against hostile West-led actions.

Pyongyang insists that it will not tolerate continued US-led war games in the area and emphasizes that it will continue to hold its own drills in response to joint military exercises by its enemies as well as develop a variety of weapons, including long-range missiles.

Blinken’s visit occurred as relations between China and the US on a number of topics, such as trade, technology, and regional security, were deteriorating.

Blinken had previously stated that his trip to Beijing aims to create communication channels in order to prevent the two countries’ ongoing rivalry from turning into a military conflict.

He suggested that they start by “communicating” in order to prevent a conflict with China. The highest-ranking American official to visit China since President Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021 is Blinken.
