American thinker and national security adviser said in an interview just before his death that American hegemony in the world is on the way to its downfall.
Before his death in 2012, Zbigniew Brzeziński,, the National Security Advisor of Jimmy Carter, gave a controversial interview to Euronews. The distinguishing feature of this interview was his emphasis on the end of American hegemony and the unipolar world.
Francis Fukuyama, a prominent political scientist in the 90s, wrote an influential essay ‘The End of History?’ announced the triumph of liberal democracy and the arrival of a post-ideological world. He also wrote about the decline of American hegemony.
But it was not only Fukuyama who wrote about the decline of American hegemony, but many other Western political thinkers and analysts have written about the decline of America and the shift of power from the West to the East in recent years.

The decline of American power, which actually means the end of American leadership and hegemony in a unipolar world, is the result of two important things:
First, other countries, especially the eastern countries, have become much more powerful economically and politically than before, and now they have something to say.
Second, America is facing internal problems more than ever, including economic recession crisis, inflation, increase in crime statistics, as well as deep political and social divide among the people.
Since the American presidential election in 2020, there have been many warnings about the possibility of a civil war, and this threat is still valid.
