Yemen War and the situation in Saudi Arabia
It has been thought that Saudi Arabia was strong at the beginning of the war, it had strong support in the form of a coalition with the help of US and Western countries, but with the passage of time, Saudi Arabia’s allies began to leave it one by one. Priorities for UAE -Saudi Arabia’s biggest ally in the Yemen war have changed after they normalized ties with Israel. Now the UAE is pushing hard to replace Saudi Arabia in the Middle East. Due to this, there has been a rift between the two countries.
America, which has been continuously supporting Saudi Arabia, has banned the sale of arms after the new administration came. Human rights groups and many countries continue to condemn Saudi Arabia for its ongoing human rights violations. And are pressuring that this war should be ended as soon as possible.
Saudi Arabia has also suffered huge losses at the economic level. This country has suffered a persistent budget deficit since the start of the war. Inflation is increasing at the national level, and discontent is increasing at the national level.
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince bin Salman has tried to quell discontent by launching a number of populist schemes at the national level. They allowed the opening of cinemas and nightclubs in Islamic religious countries, women are allowed to drive. Saudi Arabia tried to attract foreign investment by starting the Neom project.
But the truth is that Saudi Arabia is badly trapped in the Yemen war. Some sources say that Saudi Arabia is in talks with Iran to get out of this swamp. However, what will the outcome of this conversation, or when this biggest human tragedy in human history will end, only time will tell.
