A former US Air Force officer set himself ablaze in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C., to protest the ongoing Gaza war and denounce US complicity with the Zionist regime in perpetrating crimes and genocide against Palestinians.
This former American officer cried out: “I refuse to be complicit in the genocide against the Palestinian people. Free Palestine!”
Before carrying out his self-immolation, he remarked: “Self-immolation is a horrific act, but it pales in comparison to the atrocities unfolding in Gaza.”
Rescuers in Washington pronounced the individual’s condition critical.
Meanwhile, the UN Special Rapporteur on Health Rights declared Israel’s assault on Gaza’s healthcare system a deliberate crime.
Expressing deep concern about the situation in Rafah, the UN Human Rights Rapporteur stated: “Following the International Court of Justice’s ruling, we have witnessed a dangerous escalation of tensions.”
The UN health rights expert also highlighted Zionist actions in Gaza, asserting: “The events unfolding in Gaza are part of Israel’s longstanding pattern of impunity for committing atrocities.”

The UN rapporteur also voiced apprehension about Gaza’s situation, adding: “We fear a looming humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza due to the presence of decomposing bodies and the potential outbreak of epidemics. Immediate ceasefire is imperative.”
According to the UN Special Rapporteur on Health Rights, hunger has become a weapon in Israel’s campaign against Gaza, characterizing the conflict as a battle between a nuclear-armed state and people fighting for their freedom.
Simultaneously, France issued a statement urging an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, citing the dire humanitarian crisis.
The French Foreign Ministry stressed the need for a ceasefire to protect civilians and facilitate large-scale aid delivery.
Earlier, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Resistance Organization blamed Washington for prolonging tensions and conflicts in the region. The spokesperson emphasized that Netanyahu seeks to portray the resistance as hindering negotiations’ progress.
