Godswill Akpabio assured Nigerians to alter Policies for the progress of the country

Godswill Akpabio, the newly appointed president of the Senate, of the 10th house, has assured Nigerians that he will lead an unusual Senate by working with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to alter Policies that will advance and aid the progress of the nation.

On Sunday, June 25, Akpabio made the commitment during a service of thanksgiving held in his honor at the Regina Pacis Auditorium of St. Anne’s Cathedral, Ifuho in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.

He declared that his collaboration with President Tinubu would only serve the interests of Nigerians as a whole.

However, Godswill Akpabio, before his appointment was a top contender for the Senate presidency, of the 10th National Assembly, assured lawmakers of stability in the upper chamber if elected.

Given the assurance in Abuja, when he led 42 other senators, under the aegis of Integrity Group, to meet with Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the APC National Chairman, and members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

The Senate President made a commitment that the 10th National Assembly would unite behind and support the current administration’s programs to get rid of any policies that would impede Nigeria’s progress and development.

“We would collaborate on progress for Nigerians only. The fact that Nigerians chose an unusual senate president is what I want you to remember when you return home. To serve the needs of uncommon people, we will run an uncommon senate,” he said.

Akpabio also expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee, and his Senate colleagues for their support during his campaign for Senate President.

At the Victor Attah International Airport, Governor Umo Eno and the locals gave the new Senate President a hearty welcome as well. Akpabio assured them of his commitment to providing them with excellent representation in both the Senate and as its president.
