Syria crude oil consistently smuggled by Washington military

According to reports, Washington continues to plunder the energy resources in the war-damaged nation, as the US military has used dozens of tanker trucks to smuggle Syria crude oil from the northeastern Syrian province of Hasakah to regions in northern Iraq.

Syrian News outlet stated On Monday that 33 tankers traveling in a convoy loaded with oil from Syria’s energy-rich Jazira and Sharqia regions crossed into Iraq illegally at Mahmoudiya, according to local sources and the country’s official news agency, SANA.

The natural resources of the Arab nation were pillaged by American occupation forces through the Mahmoudiya crossing, according to a SANA report, some months back, on April 22.

On the same day, a separate convoy of 40 additional US military tankers carrying Syrian crude oil passed through the al-Waleed border crossing in the al-Ya’rubiyah region. They then entered Iraqi territory.

The Pentagon claims that the US military has long had troops and equipment stationed in northeastern Syria in an effort to keep the terrorist group Daesh out of control over the region’s oilfields.

Damascus insists that the deployment is intended to steal the nation’s natural resources, though. Donald Trump, a former US president, acknowledged on multiple occasions that American forces were in the Arab nation because of its abundant oil.

Last month, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates denounced the US occupation forces’ ongoing looting of Syrian oil and other national resources, emphasizing that the banditry is a flagrant violation of both international law and humanitarian principles.

In a statement released on April 22, the ministry emphasized that the US military had continued to plunder Syrian oil and other natural resources over the previous weeks, smuggling them to Turkey via northern Iraq.

Furthermore, the ministry made note of the fact that such actions would only serve to prolong Syria’s economic crisis and worsen the suffering of the Syrian people.
