KAN emphasized that the number of suicides committed by Israel’s military forces increased significantly in the previous year. As a result, the chief of general staff of the Israeli military has ordered the deployment of additional resources and forces to address the problem.

Since the beginning of the month, three Israeli soldiers have died, two of whom took their own lives last week, according to Israeli media.

As per the Palestine Today news organization, Suicide is as yet the main source of death inside the positions of the Israeli armed force in non-battle circumstances, and the number has taken off decisively as of late.

Official information from the Data and Exploration Focus of the Knesset (Israeli parliament) shows that the Tel Aviv system registers 500 suicides every year, 100 of which are among youngsters in the 15-24 age section.

According to statistics released earlier this year by the Israeli military, the number of soldiers who committed suicide and the number of soldiers who were killed in uniform increased over the past year, with 44 deaths compared to 31 deaths in the previous year.

Suicide stayed the main source of death, with no less than 14 warriors accepted to have taken their own lives in 2022, contrasted with 11 in the earlier year.

According to Brigadier General Yoram Knafo, chief of staff for the army’s Manpower Directorate, who spoke to reporters, conscripted male soldiers committed the majority of suicides in the Israeli military last year. According to him, two of the 14 cases involved lone soldiers—those who either do not have family in the occupied territories or do not have family there to support them.

In addition, the number of severely injured soldiers reported by the Israeli military increased significantly in 2022, from 92 in 2021 to 158 in 2022.
