Palestinians accuse the US-sponsored Jordan summit of being a plot against their aspirations; the White House-organized Israeli-Palestinian security summit in Jordan following the Israeli military’s deadly raid in Nablus, thousands of Palestinians have taken to the streets throughout the occupied West Bank to voice their displeasure.
In the early hours of Sunday, protesters thronged the streets of the Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, to voice their opposition to the later-that-day meeting of top officials from Jordan, Egypt, Jordania, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority (PA) in the resort city of Aqaba, Jordan.
Representatives of Palestinian freedom fighters organizations condemned the Palestinian Authority’s decision to attend the US-organized security summit, calling it a disastrous event, these representatives which were present at the Jenin protest.

Similar protests against the Aqaba were also held in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, where Participants were chanting anti-Aqaba slogans.
The Palestinian organization claimed in a joint statement that PA officials were once more persuaded to attend such meetings, which are hosted by and closely supervised by the White House.
“The institutions of the Palestinian Authority ought to work harder to strengthen the front of resistance and achieve national cohesion. According to the statement, the upcoming meeting in Aqaba is intended to pave the way for the Zionists to continue building illegal settlements and killing Palestinians.
The Palestinian defending organizations also claimed that the Aqaba summit would not benefit the Palestinian people, but rather serve Israel’s interests.
According to a senior representative of the Gaza-based Hamas movement who has been fighting in resisting the Israeli oppression, said the Aqaba meeting’s goals are to sow discord among Palestinians and crush West Bank, resistance groups.
According to Basem Naim, head of Hamas’ international relations department, “while the summit is allegedly meant to de-escalate tensions and curb violence throughout the Palestinian territories, its main purpose is to implement the US security plan, wipe out Palestinian resistance organizations, and kill off the hopes of the Palestinian people for freedom and independence.”
The US security plans to weaken the Palestinian nation’s will and resistance front and derail their fight for freedom from Israeli occupation, according to Naim, have all been unsuccessful; they also notify the Palestinian Authority officials of this fact, he added.
The senior Hamas official addressed PA authorities, saying “Even though your political initiatives and reliance on foreign forces have failed to attain the national goals of Palestinians, you still insist on standing on the wrong side of history and acting as tools in the hands of Israeli occupiers.”
The recent days have really been a hard time for Palestinians as the Israeli force double its crackdown in the occupied West Bank; which has led to the death of numerous Palestinian including children, and many others detained.
