Concerns that the situation in the occupied territories will soon collapse have led Israeli forces to kill another Palestinian in the occupied West Bank city of al-Khalil.
The 40-year-old victim has been identified as Hamdi Shaker Abu Dayyeh, according to the Palestinian health ministry, who was shot and killed by Israeli forces on Tuesday.
According to security sources, the Palestinian man was shot by Israeli forces while they were guarding a checkpoint at the northern entrance to the town of Halhoul, north of al-Khalil.

Before he was declared dead, Dayyeh had suffered serious injuries; Witnesses claimed that ambulances were prevented from reaching the Palestinian man’s body, which was held by the regime’s army, by Israeli forces.
With this latest death, 15 Palestinians have been killed this year, including four children.
Hours after being shot by Israeli forces during a raid south of the central West Bank city of Bethlehem, a Palestinian teenager passed away on Monday.
Under the guise of detaining so-called “wanted” Palestinians, Israeli forces conduct almost daily raids on various West Bank cities. Typically, the raids result in violent confrontations with locals.
Israel has increased its attacks on Palestinian towns and cities throughout the occupied territories over the past few months. These attacks have resulted in the arrest of numerous Palestinians and the deaths of dozens of others.
2022 was the deadliest year for Palestinians in the West Bank in 16 years, according to the United Nations.
Last year, Israeli forces killed at least 171 Palestinians, including more than 30 children, in the occupied East al-Quds and West Bank. Additionally, at least 9,000 more were injured.
Hamas, the Palestinian resistance movement, issued a statement on Friday in response to new Israeli crimes, reiterating that the occupying regime’s acts of aggression will not go unnoticed and holding Israel accountable for its continued crimes and violations against Palestinians.
