Cucumber is a snack that is widely loved and easy to munch on. Cucumber belongs to a member of the Cucurbitaceae family which include squash and different type of melon-like; bitter melon.
The interesting thing about cucumber is you can have it in your desired option like a salad or even eaten raw because it contains a lot of nutritional value. It’s a high source of Vitamin K, antioxidants as well as an anti-inflammatory flavanol called ‘fisetin’ which plays a vital role in promoting brain health. Cucumbers have a mild, refreshing taste that relieves dehydration and are pleasant to eat in hot weather.

Cucumber eaten at late hours would prove too heavy on your digestive system. When you eat something heavy or calorie-ridden, it takes a lot of time to digest and interrupts your sleep cycle. That is why it is said that carbs are a big no-no for fitness enthusiasts post 7 p.m.
Cucumber contains a good volume of water of about 95% water. Having lots of it will make you feel “extra full” and bloated. Limited quantity should be consumed because you’re taking in more water and are bound to fill up the bladder and urinate more in the course of work or a day’s activity.

It’s not a friendly snack for all, especially people with sensitive stomachs. Cucumber contains an ingredient called cucurbitacin, which is known to cause indigestion problems.
Eating too much cucumber triggers Sinusitis, also commonly known as a sinus infection. It’s a medical condition, where your nasal passages become infected and inflamed. A person suffering from an acute or even chronic sinus infection should consume cucumber in little quantities.
The aim of this article is not to totally drop cucumbers from your diet but you should have them at a moderate portion and consider having them before your dinner (at least 20-30 minutes before).
