Bin Zayed invites the President of Israel to visit the UAE

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has invited Israeli President Isaac Herzog for a first-of-its-kind visit to the UAE.

The Hebrew (official) Kan channel revealed, on Saturday, quoting a statement from Herzog’s office: “The Israeli president called the Crown Prince of the Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, and the conversation took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere and touched on various bilateral and regional issues.”

The channel continued, “The President congratulated the Crown Prince on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the UAE, noting the extraordinary achievements of the Emirates in various fields. The Crown Prince thanked the President and said that he is looking forward to his official visit to the UAE.”

Last year, the UAE was the first Gulf country to sign an agreement to normalize relations with the Hebrew state, before Bahrain followed suit.

The UAE opened its embassy in Tel Aviv last July, and Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid inaugurated the Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai last June.
