Tears were shed and prayers held in London’s marble arch on Sunday bringing the sights and sounds of Karbala to thousands that gathered there from all over the UK. People from different backgrounds but all with one thing in common; their love for the Prophet’s grandson who was martyred on the sands of Karbala in the year 680.
This is an extension of the world’s largest peaceful procession. This year despite the COVID-19 pandemic, millions have taken part in the procession, commemorating Imam Hussein (AS) and his family’s sacrifice and evoking their message.

Every year this procession highlights events that took place centuries ago, reminding humanity of the ongoing battle against tyranny.
