More than 70 gymnasts are expected to participate in the 2021 Tony International Gymnastics (TIG) summer camp scheduled to begin on Monday in Abuja.
Tony Asuquo, coach and founder of the club, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja .
According to him, the five-week camping will also prepare the gymnasts expected participate in the Boston International Cup competition in the U.S.
Asuquo also told NAN that gymnasts from Kano and Lagos states indicated interest to participate in the summer camp.
“At this moment, we have over 70 entries for the summer camp. We also have gymnasts from Kano and Lagos who will be part of this year’s edition.
“The kids would be taught gymnastics, skating, ballet, swimming, creative arts, physical fitness, dance and more.
“The summer camp is also preparation for the 12 TIG gymnasts who will be participating in the Boston competition in August.
“This camp will keep the kids busy during the holidays and help them learn new skills,’’ Asuquo said.
NAN reports that the camp is expected to begin on July 18 and to be rounded off on Aug. 28 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The Boston International Cup is billed to start on Aug. 21 and end on Aug. 31.
