The Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, has expressed sadness over the abduction of the students of Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna, and promised to work closely with the Executive arm of government to ensure their safe release.
Recall that over 100 students of the school were on Monday, 5th July, 2021, abducted by suspected gunmen and are still in the hands of their abductors in what many described as the worst kidnapping of students in the state.
The Speaker, represented by Hon. Ekene Adams, commiserated with the management of the school and parents of kidnapped students.
Hon. Ekene Adams while speaking, said, “I am here on behalf of the Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Zailani, who wanted to be here in person, but could not due to the demise of his sister.”
Ekene Adams explained that the Speaker sent him to inform the school management and parents that the government is never asleep over the security challenges of the state.
He lamented that certain people have chosen to play politics with the security situation challenging the unity of the state, saying that enough is enough.
