Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor has alleged that some officers of the Department of State Security Services, DSS, forced him and some others to wear slippers before meeting with their client.
Ejiofor, disclosed that he and some other lawyers visited Kanu in the DSS custody on Thursday.
He made this revelation in a statement titled ‘Update on today’s visit being 26th day of August 2021.’
The statement read in part; “Lawyers on this visit were searched in a manner akin to a situation where hardened criminals are being searched for possible incriminating objects.”

“They were traumatised not only because they were inhumanly treated, but the lawyers were further dehumanised after this embarrassing and unwarranted frisking, by being allowed to wear only slippers, after being divested of their shoes, reading glasses and writing materials to visit their client.”
The lawyer stated that the situation called for immediate intervention of the court.
It was earlier reported that, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has alleged that Tuesday’s coordinated attack Nigeria Defense Academy (NDA) was a plot by government and its security agencies to turn Nigeria into another Afghanistan.
It also alleged the attack was an indication of likely plan to attack the Headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) where its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was detained.
In a statement from its Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, IPOB warned that Nigeria would be held responsible if anything happened to its leader.
It added that its members, by the incident, had been placed on red alert on the security situation in Nigeria and the possibility of attack.
The statement reads: “We the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to put the world on notice of the wicked plot by Nigeria Government and its security agencies to turn Nigeria into another Afghanistan.
“Tuesday’s coordinated attack on the heavily guarded Nigeria Defense Academy, NDA Kaduna by rag-tag Fulani bandits with ease and without resistance was just a confirmation of the age-old plan to accomplish this wicked agenda.
“This attack at the NDA is also an indication that they may be planning to attack the Headquarters of the Department of State Services, DSS, where our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is currently detained.
“If bandits with the aid of compromised Fulani controlled Military can successfully attack the NDA and kill Igbo military officer, why will one think it’s impossible for bandits to attack DSS headquarters and kill Nnamdi Kanu?
“The Fulani controlled federal government knows that our leader is their greatest headache. He predicted what is happening now and how the cabal running the country in Buhari’s name wants to actualise the Fulanisation and Islamisation agenda.
