Why we are hosting the Festival – Commissioner
The Bayelsa state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Daniel Igali has revealed that the fiesta became necessary due to the exploits and the global attention Bayelsa has received.
Igali claimed that the governor’s vision in sports development was the reason for the positive attention sports had given to the Bayelsa State administration.
He stated that 1,014 participants, including 592 ladies and 552 males, would compete in the one-week event in fourteen different sports in various local government districts throughout the state.
The commissioner noted the showpiece will officially begin on March 27 and run through March 30, with the fiesta wrapping up on April 1.

Athletes to participate in 14 games at the festival
The commissioner noted that the Access Bank prosperity games would feature fourteen sports which include, athletics, boxing, canoeing, Judo, Football, Chess, Karate, table tennis, draught, swimming taekwondo, scrabble, para-swimming, wrestling, and weightlifting.
