On Saturday, 11th February 2023, stakeholders in African music gathered in Lagos for the Soundcity MVP awards to celebrate the songs and artists that dominated 2022.
Nigerian megastar Burna Boy took home the award for the Best African act, Asake won the Best Nigerian act male, and Tems won the Best Nigerian act female.
Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif won the award for Best Hip Hop while South Africa’s DJ Maphorisa won the award for Best DJ.
