Angelina Jolie wrote in a post on her Instagram page that she was going to Yemen at the same time when the war in Ukraine is going as a reminder that she should think about all the refugees and victims of the war.
The head of the UN refugee agency said he hoped Julie’s visit to Yemen ahead of the annual High-Level Conference would draw world attention to the poorest Arab country that has been at war for years.
“As we continue to watch the horror unfolding in Ukraine and call for an immediate end to it, I am here in Yemen to support those who desperately need peace,” Julie wrote in her post.

“This is one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world,” she added. In the world in 2022, one civilian is killed or injured every hour. “The war-torn economy and the more than 20 million Yemenis here need humanitarian aid to survive.”
Julie also compared the Yemeni refugee crisis to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, stressing that “everyone” deserves support.
Julie also wrote in another post with the following video: “While we continue to watch the horror that is taking place in Ukraine and call for an immediate end to it, I am here in Yemen to support as one of the people who desperately need peace.”
