Lady Gaga and Celine Dion are apparently preparing for a historic duet for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. The two celebs are believed to be staying at the same hotel.

Lady Gaga is reportedly gearing up to duet with Celine Dion at the glittering opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games.

Reports began circulating this week that the 38-year-old Poker Face songstress would be performing with Celine when both stars were spotted in the French capital ahead of the Olympics. The rumour mill then went into a frenzy after the two global superstars were spotted emerging from the same hotel.

The hotly anticipated Friday performance would be Celine’s first live show since 2020. The 56-year-old Queen of Power Ballads was forced to step away from the spotlight after she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome – a rare neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and intense spasms – in 2022.

Celine and Lady Gaga are expected to perform classic French lovesong ‘La Vie en Rose’, according to The Guardian. The My Heart Will Go On singer is staying in a lavish suite at the five-star luxury hotel Le Royal Monceau – from which Lady Gaga was also seen emerging this week, blowing kisses to crowds of supporters.

Reports have been circulating that Celine is going to be paid a whopping £1.55 million for her Paris comeback performance. However, the Paris Olympics have denied these rumours, claiming that no music artists are getting paid for the event.

The statement on their website read: “Contrary to some media reports, the music artists who will be appearing at the Paris 2024 Games Ceremonies will not be paid a fee for their services. Their decision to perform under these conditions reflects their desire to be part of a historic event for France, and for the world of sports.”

This would not be Celine’s first Olympics performance. In 1996, the All By Myself hitmaker sang The Power of the Dream at the Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

The star hinted at a potential music comeback earlier this year. Talking to Vogue France about her ongoing health battles in April, she said: “I have this illness for some unknown reason. The way I see it, I have two choices. Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it’s over, I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror and sing to myself.”

Fans are praying the rumours of the “dream duet” come true. Writing on X, one said: “If the rumours of Céline Dion and Lady Gaga performing a duet are true, we are in for an iconic Olympic ceremony.”

Another person agreed: “Lady Gaga X Celine Dion is a dream duet, they will rock the Olympics stage together,” while a third chimed in: “Gaga and Céline Dion singing together at the opening ceremony for the Olympics might be an all-timer!”

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga has been forced to deny pregnancy rumours after fans thought they spotted a baby bump in a snap of her in a figure-hugging little black dress. Shutting down the gossip on TikTok, the A Star is Born actress jokingly wrote: “Not pregnant – just down bad crying at the gym.”

Obsessed with her witty response, one fan commented: “Love you queen. You shouldn’t even have to entertain these rumours,” while another quipped: “My mother was quick with a response lol.”
