What will be Iran’s response to the consulate attack?
Following the Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s consulate in Damascus on Monday evening, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Maqdad contacted Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.
In this phone call, the foreign ministers of Iran and Syria discussed various aspects of this crime.
Al-Miqdad condemned the Zionist regime’s criminal attacks in the strongest terms and considered them a gross violation of international rules, especially the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
Thanking the Syrian Foreign Minister for his presence at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus, Amir Abdullahian said: “Netanyahu has completely lost his mental balance due to the Israeli regime’s continuous failures in Gaza and failure to achieve its goals ”
Iran’s Foreign Minister considered the attack on the Iranian Consulate building in Damascus a violation of all international obligations and conventions and held the Zionist regime responsible for the consequences of this action, and stressed the need for a serious response by the international community to such a situation.
After the statement of Iran’s Foreign Minister, there is speculation as to what Iran’s response could be to this attack.
In the past too, Iran has responded to such attacks with full force. Earlier, when America had assassinated Iranian General Qasim Suleimani, Iran had launched a series of missile attacks on the American base. Some time ago, Iran had also fired missiles at the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad in Kurdistan, Iraq. Missile attacks against Pakistan can also be seen in this context.
Looking at history, it is certain that Iran will definitely take revenge, but it is up to Iran itself to decide when and where.
