Wike urged everyone to rise above partisan politics and dedicate themselves to positive contributions.
Despite months of criticism, former Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, stands defiant in his support for President Bola Tinubu, declaring there’s “no regret at all.”
On a Saturday, January 6, 2024, visit to Victor Giadom, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wike, still a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reiterated his loyalty to the ruling party and its leader.
is presence in Giadom’s Bera hometown, a significant gesture in itself, was further bolstered by Wike’s unwavering stance.
“I stand for it,” he affirmed, seemingly unfazed by the controversy his position has generated. This reaffirmed commitment could be a harbinger of things to come in Rivers’ political landscape.
While advocating for political impact over online diatribes, Wike subtly jabbed at his successor, Governor Sim Fubara, and their purported peace deal.

“We’ll show them who is who when the time comes,” he quipped, hinting at potential future political clashes. His emphasis on real-world campaigning over social media chatter seemed to be a veiled criticism of his opponent’s tactics.
Maintaining a conciliatory tone, Wike urged everyone to rise above partisan politics and dedicate themselves to positive contributions.
“It’s not the time for anybody to say, ‘I am for this, I am for that,'” he stated, advocating for a period of united focus on societal progress.
However, his cryptic “when the time comes” remark cast a shadow of future political battles, leaving observers wondering what’s in store for Rivers under Wike’s watchful eye.
