Palestinian resistance, Al-Qassam reveals new air defense system

The Palestinian resistance revealed on Monday a homemade air defense system that it used to target Zionist enemy aircraft, with the beginning of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle on Saturday.

The Palestine Online website quoted the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, in a military statement, as saying: “The air defense system that it developed locally in Gaza is of the Mutabar 1 model and was used to confront enemy aircraft during the Battle of al-Aqsa Flood.”

The Brigades published a video clip showing Air Force fighters installing the system’s missiles and targeting the Zionist enemy’s aircraft.

In another clip, the brigades published scenes of operations to confront enemy aircraft using shoulder-fired missiles and others launched from ground platforms.

The Brigades confirmed their continued work to develop weapons that would give them freedom to operate in the field and through which they would try to neutralize the Zionist enemy’s aircraft and weapons.

Encountering earlier Israeli offensives,

The Palestinian resistance movement has released a video showing its retaliatory missile operation to confront Israeli airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Qassam brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas resistance movement, broadcasted the video on February, showing their air defenses tackling the Israeli warplanes as the aircraft was attacking the blockaded enclave.

On its telegram channel, the Qassam brigades said that, “They confronted heavy Israeli air raids with surface-to-air and anti-aircraft missiles,” as the warplanes were bombing a number of different sites in separate raids in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian resistance also fired a number of retaliatory rockets at the illegal Israeli settlements in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military claimed in a statement that it struck a weapons manufacturing site belonging to the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in the central Gaza Strip after confirming that it is “striking in” the coastal enclave.

It also alleged that the strikes came after it intercepted “a rocket launch from the Gaza Strip a day earlier”.

Local sources said that at least one Israeli strike also hit a training center belonging to the Qassam brigades.

The occupied Palestinian territories have been simmering with rage in the past weeks over Israel’s escalation in its killing policies and the long-running scheme to Judaize Palestinian lands and build more illegal settlements in light of the new extremist administration led by far-right prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Last week, the Israeli military pounded areas west and south of Gaza, including posts belonging to the Palestinian resistance. The strikes were carried out after at least 10 Palestinians, including a 61-year-old woman, lost their lives in violent incursions by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.

The Qassam brigades have assured time and again that they know no red lines in their confrontation with the Israeli regime and its military, which has been committing heinous crimes against the Palestinians, especially those living in the Gaza strip under a crippling years-long siege.

In January alone, the Israeli occupation forces killed 35 Palestinians, including 8 children, while 224 Palestinians, including 61 children, were killed in 2022.
