Only a few hours prior to the illegal arrival of the Israeli military to a Palestinian village, a teenage Palestinian boy was killed by Israeli forces during one of their increasingly deadly raids in the occupied territory. This incident occurred in the town of Sebastia in the northern West Bank.
The shooting occurred on Friday night, according to Wafa, the official Palestinian news agency. A video of a windshield covered in bullet holes was also made public.
According to local reports, the troops raided the town and opened fire on a car with two people inside, killing one and injuring the other.
According to Ahmed Jibril, head of ambulance and emergency services at the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Nablus, Israeli soldiers prevented paramedics from getting close to the car until one of the teenagers passed away while he was bleeding inside.
The other occupant was captured by the forces and taken to an unidentified location.
Fawzi Hani Makhalafa, 18, was the Palestinian who died, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Once Israeli army forces gave the PRCS paramedics permission to enter the scene, they took the dead teen’s body to Rafidia Surgical Hospital in Nablus.
In the early hours of Friday, Israeli forces opened fire on a teen in the nearby village of Umm Safa, killing Muhammad Fouad Atta al-Bayed, 17, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
According to Wafa, the young boy, who lived in the Jalazone refugee camp north of Ramallah, was taken to the Istishari Arab Hospital before he passed away from his injuries.
Israeli forces had also used tear gas, stun grenades, and live ammunition during clashes with locals, it was added.
For the past 18 months, there have been frequent raids by the Israeli military and retaliatory attacks by the Palestinians throughout the occupied West Bank which had led to the killing of at least 200 Palestinians by Israeli forces.
