US-NATO allies helped Ukraine launch drone attacks on Moscow

The US and its NATO allies may have helped Ukraine launch recent drone attacks on Moscow, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, which also maintains that such assistance was necessary for the UAV raids to be successful.

The United States and its NATO allies continue to supply the Kyiv regime with weapons, including drones, train drone operators, and provide the intelligence necessary to carry out such crimes, including images of the surface of the Earth obtained with the aid of civilian and military satellites, according to a statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday. “Such attacks would not have been possible without the help of the United States and its NATO allies to the Kyiv regime,” the statement read.

The ministry insisted further that “all this makes Washington and its satellites complicit in planning and carrying out terror attacks that are being planned and carried out on Western property and with Western weapons.”

The declaration was made in response to earlier that day’s announcement by Russian emergency services that five drones had been shot down in and around Moscow without causing any injuries or property damage. However, as a result of the incident, flight operations at Vnukovo International Airport were momentarily halted.
In a TASS report, the ministry was quoted as adding more information about the circumstances of the Ukrainian drone raid, saying, “According to the incoming information, this time, they targeted civilian infrastructure facilities, including a major international airport. Russian air defense and electronic warfare systems operated precisely, foiling these plans. One lost control and crashed while the other four drones were shot down. There were no accidents or property losses.”

In the meantime, Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian foreign ministry, denounced the attack on the Vnukovo airport as an “act of terrorism,” accusing Kyiv of attacking civilian areas.

“The Kyiv regime’s attempt to attack an area where civilian infrastructure is located, including the airport, which incidentally also receives foreign flights, is yet another act of terrorism,” Zakharova emphasized.

She continued, “The international community should understand that the United States, Britain, and France – permanent members of the UN Security Council – are financing a terrorist regime.

Two drone attacks on the Kremlin occurred back in May, but neither one succeeded in damaging the building because the Russian military shot it down.

Attacks on Russian territory or newly annexed Russian regions rarely result in Ukraine claiming responsibility in the media. In recent weeks, the number of drone attacks against energy facilities has increased.

The attacks picked up steam last month after Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, declared that his country’s military had started an offensive against Russia.

Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, however, claimed in the past that Kyiv was suffering significant setbacks in its offensive against his nation.
