The Premier League is the richest and biggest football league in the world, and as a result, it is the home of many world-class players who earn the biggest bucks.
Nigerian players are not left out of this conversation as the Premier League has been home to many Super Eagles stars- both past and present- since its inception in 1992.
Currently, nine Super Eagles stars are playing in the English top-flight. We take a look at the five highest earners among them.
Emmanuel Dennis [Watford]
Dennis has been the best Nigerian player in the Premier League this season and one of the best in Europe.
The 24-year-old joined Watford from Belgian club Club Brugge last summer and wasted no time settling down.
He has been Watford’s best player this season, having contributed to 48% of the Hornets goals in the Premier League this season [nine goals and five assists]
However, despite his excellent form this season, he reportedly earns just £27,000 weekly, making him the fifth-highest paid Nigerian in the Premier League.
Dennis could get a raise next season, though, if he leaves the Vicarage Road this summer.
Watford faces a massive challenge of beating the drop, and that could see Premier League clubs swoop in for some of their players.
Oghenekaro Etebo [Watford]
Etebo is another Watford player on the list, which is not surprising as the Hornets currently have four Nigerian players in their squad.
Etebo joined Watford on a loan deal from Stoke City and currently earns around £29,000 per week, making him the fourth-highest earning Nigerian in the league.
However, his loan spell at the club has been frustrating due to an injury that ruled him out for five months.
Although he has returned to full fitness, it is unlikely that the Hornets will commit to keeping him permanently.
Alex Iwobi [Everton]
Iwobi is the current second-longest-serving Super Eagles player in the Premier League, but he is just the third-highest earner.
He has been playing in the league since making his debut for Arsenal in 2015.
Iwobi spent four years at Arsenal before moving to Everton in 2019 for a fee of around £30m.
The 25-year-old currently earns £50,000 weekly wages but has not justified the price tag that brought him to the Goodison Park.

Kelechi Iheanacho [Leicester City]
Iheanacho made his Premier League bow before any other Super Eagles star currently plying their trade in the English top-flight.
However, it is not enough to make him the highest-earner, although he is the second-highest-paid Super Eagles star in the league.
Iheanacho currently earns £60,000 at Leicester City, having joined the club from Manchester City in 2017.
His time at the King Power Stadium has been full of ups and downs. The 25-year-old has a contract that runs until 2024.
Wilfred Ndidi [Leicester City]
Ndidi is arguably the Nigerian player close to a world-class level, which is why he is the highest earning Super Eagles star in the Premier League.
He currently earns £75,000 per week, which is even small considering what he offers to the Foxes.
The Super Eagles midfielder joined Leicester from Genk in January 2017 and has gone on to become one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.
He is currently the fourth-highest paid player at the King Power Stadium and has a contract until 2024.
Ndidi has been linked with a move away from the club many times, and should he leave this summer, he would definitely get an increase in his wages.
