Nigerian Hip-hop musician, David Adeleke widely known as Davido, has donated the sum of N250million to orphanages across Nigeria.
The music artiste, who a few days ago, asked lovers of his songs to send him birthday gifts, thereafter received about N200million from Nigerians all over the world including billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.
He announced on Friday that he was donating the N250million to orphanages to help give children in those places a good life.
According to Davido, who made a personal donation of N50million to the cause, giving and helping people around him was one of his biggest joys in life.
He said, “I wish to express my sincere gratitude to my friends, colleagues, fans and the public for the generous expression of love in recent days.
“In my usual playful manner, I requested a few days ago that my friends and colleagues send me money in celebration of my birthday.
The response and outcome exceeded my expectations as I received about N200million in less than two days.

I truly appreciate everyone who donated hard-earned funds and I am very thankful for your generosity.
“I have always been passionate about giving back and helping people. In view of this, I am delighted to announce that all the funds received will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria as well as the Paroche Foundation.
“In addition, I will be making a personal donation of N50million, bringing the total amount to N250million,” Davido said.
The distribution of the fund will be overseen by a five-person committee made up of individuals with integrity, according to a statement by the artiste.
