Barrister. Olorogun Kennth, former Minister of education in the administration of former president Good luck Ebele Jonathan has on Tuesday said that insecurity, sectional and tribal agitation and COVID-19 pandemic has put Nigeria in poverty stage.
Barr. Olorogun, disclosed this while presented a paper at 3rd annual conference of Faculty of social science at the Federal University of Lafia.
Speaking at the annual national conference with the theme; National Security, COVID-19 and Social Issues in Nigeria, Olorogun, explained that the post COVID-19 pandemic era is facing with seriously security challenges which has affected Nigeria economy and has rendered everything to a zero level.
He also attributed persisting ocurance of insecurity to insubordination within the top echelon of the security apparatus which most a time resulted to personality clashes.
According to him, “I cannot find any other word to describe the present state of country is in but the collapse.”
“Despite been a country made up of different country through amalgamation since 1914 distrust has put the Nigeria State in a situation where citizens continually agitate for separation resulting loss of lives in a daily basis.
“Kidnapping, sectional and tribal agitation together with the COVID-19 has put into poverty.”

On his remarked Vice Chancellor Federal University of Lafia Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman who apart from appreciated the effort of staff of Faculty of Social Science in the University; he adding that under his watch he ensure that the Federal University of Lafia, compete favourable with others great University of the country intense of academic research.
He also pray that the outcome of of the conference should addressed challenges post by COVID-19 pandemic and security challenge in the country.
