At last, a long wait for the Palestinian farmers has ended and the dates are ripe. Due to good conditions and proper land, and special attention and care, the farmers of this region have got a good harvest of dates. With the income of these dates, Palestinian farmers can overcome their expenses for a year comfortably.
Jamal Abu Jamiza, a Palestinian farmer, says that the Gaza Strip is identified with this crop and it is an important agricultural product in Gaza and Deir Bath. But at this time, we are faced with the problem of exports, before that we were able to export our products to Jordan and other Arab countries. But now we are facing problems in exporting dates because of Gaza’s atrocious siege. Today the cost of production is exceeding the income.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture of Palestine, 9,000 tons of dates are grown annually in an area of 900 hectares of the Gaza Strip. Farmers and date growers are provided with all kinds of facilities and services, this date is the best date in the Middle East.

Ayad Alabar, an agriculture ministry official in the Gaza Strip, says date production depends on climate-like conditions and produces about 9 to 10 thousand tons dates. The major problem and bottleneck in the export of dates is the Zionist regime, which has sieged Gaza Strip and does not allow Palestinian farmers to come and go. Due to which the yield of Palestinian farmers is getting worse, and despite a good harvest, they are not able to export their produce to other countries.
Palestinian farmers are looking at their production with anticipation, they have worked hard all over the year, and now it is the time to take advantage, but because of Israel’s curl siege, their yields are getting worse, and they are not able to export it. Poor Palestinian farmers are facing a very difficult situation but at the same time, Israel is creating obstacles in the export of these products.
