The Islamic Movement of Nigeria ( IMN ) popularly known as ‘Shi’ites’ has debunked planning to embark on a seven-day mass protest in Abuja over the killing of its members during the annual Arbaeen Symbolic Trek by the security operatives.
A message titled ‘security advisory alert’ had on Thursday went viral on social media alleging a plan by the group to embark on a massive protest in some locations which includes Wuse market, Mararaba, Nyanya, Garki, Area 1, Banex and Federal Secretariat and some other locations.
But while reacting to the message the Secretary of Academic Forum of the Movement, Abdullahi Musa said the movement was not planning any protest adding that it was a mere
speculation and malicious falsehood by one of the agencies of the United Nations.
He said the message was aimed at ridiculing the image of the movement.
Musa asked Nigerians to disregard the message and stating that the United Nations should have asked the Nigerians government the reasons for withholding the travel documents of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky who has been acquitted and discharged by the court some months ago.
Musa said ” The Islamic movement under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has no plans for any 7days protest that was supposed to start yesterday.

” Is unfortunate that an agency of the United Nation that is directly under the office of the UN Secretary-General will listen and respond to a cooked up and fake security alert by an unknown body.
” The UN should have to ask Buhari and his Minister of Justice Malami Abubakar to release the traveling documents of Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife to attend to their health challenges, particularly those triggered by numerous bullets shrapnel and fragments which release poison into their blood instead of responding to lies and campaign of calumny by Nigeria’s enemies of peace and progress.
It was earlier reported On Jul 2, 2021, that, Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) on Friday took to the streets of Abuja in continuation of their demand for the release of Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife who have been in the custody of the federal government.
The members took advantage of the close of Jumat service at Wuse Zone 3 by the National Headquarters of the Nigerian Customs Service (NIS) and embedded themselves amongst the worshipers leaving the worship ground.
