Hundreds march in Lubmin- Germany to oppose NATO’s arms supply to Ukraine

On Monday, hundreds of anti-government and pacifist demonstrators gathered in the city of Lubmin-Germany to demand the lifting of sanctions against Russia and the cessation of NATO’s arms shipments to Ukraine.

According to Ruptly, demonstrators are seen carrying banners and flags with messages like “Peace, freedom, out of NATO” and “Our country is in the first place.”

Thomas Kerl, the demonstration’s organizer, asked, “Can you provide any proof of how many lives the increasing arms deliveries have saved so far?”.

It is frequently asserted that the delivery of new and additional weapons will promote peace and ensure that fewer people die. This needs to be demonstrated, as it is a claim that has never before in history been validated.

According to Kerl, protesters at the rally, which took place on Whit Monday, were also against proposed LNG terminals off the Baltic Sea as a replacement for the gas formerly provided by the Nord Stream pipelines.

“I categorically reject LNG gas because it is very bad for the environment and the climate. Why, after saying two years ago that LNG gas was carcinogenic, has the Red-Green coalition now switched to it? Kerl continued.

“To prevent further tragedies, we must fix Nord Stream 2 and work with the Russians to bring about peace in Ukraine. We must sit down at a table and establish peace because we are civilized people. ”.

The protesters congregated in the Kurpark before the rally in Lubmin, where a number of speakers addressed the crowds there. Later, the protesters marched through the heart of the city.

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, a state in Germany, has a seaside resort called Lubmin on its Baltic coast. It is recognized as the location where Russian gas delivered through the Nord Stream pipelines, which were damaged by explosions in an act of alleged sabotage last September, arrives.
