The Iranian athletes bagged 13 medals at the 10th Fujairah Open International Taekwondo Championships 2023.
Alireza Hosseinpour(-58 kg), Danial Bozorgi(-68 kg), Mohammad Hossein Yazdani(-80 kg), Alireza Nadalian(+87 kg), Saeedeh Nasiri(-46 kg), Mabina Nematzadeh(-53 kg), Tina Modanloo(-57 kg)and Kowsar Asaseh (-62 kg) gained eight gold medals.
The Iranian fighters namely Negar Esmaeili (-49 kg), Melika Mirhosseini (-73 kg) and Arian Salimi (-87 kg) bagged three silver medals.
Ghazal Soltani (-53 kg) and Narges Mirnurollahi (-62 kg) snatched bronze medals in the tournament.
As many as 1,489 contestants were competeing for the medals in the competition which is being held between February 5-8.

The Iranian national Greco-Roman team in 2023 Zagreb Open Greco-Roman Championship with UWW ranking gained 4 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals, becoming world campion of the year.
The Greco-Roman competitions in the 2023 Zagreb Open Greco-Roman Championship were held from Friday, February 3 to Sunday, February 6 in the Croatian capital city, and at the end, the 18-man Iranian team’s gold medals were gained by Pouya Dadmarz in 55kg, Mahdi Mohsennezhad in 60kg, Mohammad Geraie in 77kg, and Ali-Reza Mohammadi in 82kg weights.
Iran’s Aref Mohammad at 63kg, Reza Abbasi at 67kg, Sajjad Imantalab at 72kg, and Nasser Alizad at 78kg weight gained silver medals.
Mohammad-Mehdi Jawaheri at 55kg, Iman Mohammadi at 63kg, Amin Kavianinezhad at 77kg, Pezhman Pashtam at 82kg, and Amir Qassemi at 130kg weight, too, gained bronze medals.
Thus, the Iranian Greco-Roman wrestling team gaining 195 points mightily became the world champion of the year, and after it, the Hungarian and Azerbaijan Republic teams each with 80 points ranked second and third.

the Iranian taekwondo fighters have seized five medals in the World Taekwondo President Cup Europe WT G2 held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Abolfazl Zandi in the weight category of -54 kg, Amir Mohammad Bakhshi in the weight class of -74 kg, and Mehran Barkhordari in the weight category of -87 kg won gold medals.
Abolfazl Abbasi in the weight category of +87 kg took silver and Mir Hashem Hosseini in the weight class of -80 kg bagged a bronze medal.
Bijan Moghanloiu led the taekwondo squad of the Islamic republic in the competition.
As many as 1,126 male and female contenders competed in the tournament.
