US does not consider Ukraine an ally

The US does not consider Ukraine as an ally but is only pursuing its selfish geo-strategic interest in this proxy war.

Greg Simons, a researcher at the Institute for Russia and Eurasian studies says that the US does not look at Ukraine as an ally but is only pursuing its selfish geo-strategic interest in this proxy war.

In the ongoing Ukraine- Russia war the US has crossed threshold in Ukraine in both short-term commitments and long-term intentions, the conflict in Ukraine has rapidly escalated into a full-blown proxy war with Russia.

“Direct confrontation between NATO and Russia is World War Three, something we must strive to prevent,” President Joe Biden said, in early March.

Ukrainian President Zelensky announced at the primary state of the conflict that he would seek early accession to NATO, but his proposal was not accepted.

In the interest of America, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has clarified that it is “not the right time” for Ukraine to join the alliance and that the application should be made “at another time”. His basic message was: The US does not need Ukraine as a NATO member why is that instead of the whole of NATO to fight Russia, the US only needs Ukraine as a tool to accomplish their selfish interest.

To make his message more transparent, Sullivan went on to say that he believed the greatest way to support Ukraine was to provide practical assistance “on the ground.” Zelensky also went on to thanked US President Joe Biden for signing a bill that would provide Ukraine with more than $12 billion in additional funding.

The United States is only interested in the security architecture built in Europe in the 30 years after the collapse of the Soviet Union. There is evidence that Ukraine continues to bleed literally if anyone is tricked into believing that NATO and Ukraine are strong partners.
The United States will not stop strategic aid to Ukraine. But whether the country will be recognized by NATO anytime soon is another story. Ukraine’s value as collateral has not yet been fully exploited by the United States. The United States will not take the chance to end the crisis or stop exploiting Ukraine as it engages in war with Russia.

Ukraine may think joining NATO is the solution. “We are de facto allies … Ukraine has legally applied for it,” said Zelensky. But apparently, the US doesn’t see it that way. Ukraine just wants to become an official member of NATO which sounds more like a nightmare. NATO’S criteria for membership, include a provision that candidates must seek peaceful settlements of territorial and ethnic conflicts. However, Ukraine has long been embroiled in internal ethnic conflicts. To make matters worse is currently at war.
