Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in a telephone conversation on Monday evening emphasized the need for strengthening and developing bilateral relations.
During the phone talks, the two sides discussed bilateral ties and issues of mutual interests.
The Iranian president congratulated the Emir of Qatar for hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup and hailed the country for successful holding of this prestigious sports event in the world.
President Raeisi pointed to the all-out development of political, economic, social and cultural relations between the two countries and called for following up the agreements inked between the two countries until achieving the final results.
Emir of Qatar, for his part, termed his country’s relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran ‘brotherly with longstanding ties’ and added that Qatar is vehemently interested in expansion of this strategic ties between the two countries.
Sheikh Tamim also emphasized the implementation of agreements made between the two countries.
It was earlier reported that, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a meeting with Qatari Deputy Foreign Minister for Regional Affairs Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz al-Khalifi on Wednesday stressed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to develop relations with Qatar.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry’s delegation headed by the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Regional Affairs Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz al-Khalifi on Wednesday afternoon met with Iran’s top diplomat Hossein Amirabdollahian.
They held talks over bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest as well as ways of expanding relations between Tehran and Doha in the issues of mutual interests.
Amirabdollahian underlined the necessity of implementing agreements signed by Iran and Qatar during Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to Doha and also during the Qatari emir’s visit to Tehran.
Amirabdollahian stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation among regional countries within the framework of common interests.
Al-Khalifi, for his part, calling for the importance of developing bilateral ties, emphasized the importance of promoting cooperation at the regional level.
