Lautaro Martinez helped Inter Milan to qualify for the Coppa Italia final for the first time since 2011

Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez has dedicated his match-winning brace against AC Milan to his parents, wife, and daughter for their continuous support for him.

The Argentine forward scored a first-half brace to down AC Milan on Tuesday night in the second leg semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

Martinez opened the scoring for the Simone Inzaghi-led side in the 4th minute of the match and also doubled his and his team’s tally in the 40th minute. Robin Gosens scored his first goal for Inter in the 82nd minute to wrap up the victory.

Inter Milan and AC Milan played a goalless draw in the first leg of their last-four clash, thus Martinez’s brace and Robin Gosen’s maiden goal for Inter helped the Nerrazzuri go through to the final with a 3-0 aggregate score.

In his post-match interview with Mediaset, Martinez expressed his joy at taking the Italian champions to yet another final through hard work.

The 24-year-old striker reiterated his readiness to give his all to Inter Milan while playing for the team, pointing out that Tuesday’s victory made the Inter fans very excited.

Martinez said: “I’m delighted because we’re thorough and in another final. We’re working hard to take Inter to the top and this came into fruition today.

“The fans are over the moon and so are we. Now we need to recover and look ahead to the next game.

“I give my all for this shirt; I aim to leave the pitch at the end of every game drenched in sweat.

The Inter Milan striker went further to dedicate his Coppa Italia brace to his parents, wife, and daughter who he said were present in the stadium to support him.
“I was keen to play a big role in today’s game because my parents, wife, and daughter were all in attendance. They give me so much unwavering support; I’d like to dedicate these two goals to them,” Martinez said.

“Looking ahead to the rest of the season, we’re feeling calm and taking each game as it comes. We’ve got six to go and they’ll all be challenging.”

Inter Milan is through to the Coppa Italia final scheduled for May 11 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Inzaghi’s side will face either Juventus or Fiorentina with the second finalists to be decided today after the second leg of their semifinal fixture.

Juventus hold a slim 1-0 advantage which they picked up away in the first leg on March 2 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
